The following information can be found on the Visitor page of the library website.

Community users wishing to borrow materials for use outside the library can apply by completing this form and providing a payment of QR200. GU Alumni membership is free, but a refundable deposit of QR200 is required. The membership will be valid for one year from the date of sign-up. Partial year memberships are not available. In order to complete the application process you must:
 

  • Be 19 years of age or older
  • Provide proof of residence in Qatar (Qatar passport or Qatar ID)
  • Provide passport size photo
  • Complete and sign the Community Borrower Application Form
  • Provide cash payment of QR200 (deposit for GU alumni)

 
Please note we recommend you make a copy of your Qatar ID or passport with Resident Permit prior to visiting the library as Education City security may request you leave the original at the gate when entering. 
 
Borrowing Privileges:
Community borrowers and GU alumni can have a total of 5 items checked out on their account (no more than 2 DVDs). They may not borrow materials from other campus libraries through interlibrary loan, including GU main campus library books. Loan Periods; books 2 weeks (max 3 renewals), DVDs 7 days (no renewals), periodicals 7 days (no renewals).
